Access/Crisis Intervention - Help in 10 minutes
One call to our 24-hour crisis hotline brings help immediately, day or night. Not only do trained counselors provide immediate response, they also stabilize people in crisis and refer them to the appropriate services, thus reducing the need for hospitalization. If someone needs face-to-face intervention, we meet with them within the hour.

Adult Mental Health Services -Treating the whole person
We provide adults with mild to severe mental health issues with outpatient services that include evaluation; group therapy; medication management; social skills development; community psychiatric rehabilitation; and overall case management. Treatment is provided in the least restrictive environment – often in their own homes. Treatment teams are available at our Cameron, St. Joseph and Maryville locations.

Chemical Dependency Program - An Equal Opportunity disease
Addiction affects people of all ages, regardless of income or educational levels. We strive to help those with drug or alcohol addiction achieve independence from chemical use. We offer screening and assessment; a residential detoxification program (24 hours a day, seven days a week); and outpatient services for those whose abuse is less severe. We also offer individual and family counseling. In addition, there’s our “Substance Abuse Traffic Offender’s Program” (SATOP) – a risk reduction program for individuals who’ve had an alcohol- or drug-related traffic offense: available in Cameron, Maryville and St. Joseph.

Children and Youth Services - Strengthening families
We provide services for emotionally disturbed children and youth and their families. Our services include intake assessments; family treatment and support; intensive in-home treatment; skill development and training; evaluation; medication management; community support services; and case management. In collaboration with the St. Joseph School District, Family Guidance Center helps keep at risk children in school by offering alternative education and mental health services in a day treatment setting. Weekly support groups offer parents strategies for understanding and nurturing their children.

Family Planning Services - And more
Our Family Planning Clinic offers birth control information and more. Services include health education and parent/child sex education, physical exams, family planning counseling, contraceptive services; pregnancy testing and counseling; pre- and post-menopausal help; and screening for HIV and sexually transmitted disease (STD). We also offer referrals for prenatal care. Our services are available to both males and females. Services are provided, by appointment, in Maryville, St. Joseph and Stanberry.
